The burning agony which begins in your chest is the first indication of problems. You have to be careful right now, because misdiagnosis could be the difference between life and death. What you are feeling could be a heart attack approaching on. But knowing the symptoms quickly rules this out. No, you’ve felt this way before. The biggest clue? That hearty meal you’ve just gorged yourself on. That’s right, the burning in your chest is the returning of your old curse heartburn.

Or, perhaps it wasn’t the large meal causing the fiery blast in your gullet. Maybe it was the two cups of coffee after breakfast which lit up your esophagus. Or the chocolates you just couldn’t pass up at lunch. Not to worry, you think to yourself. You’ll just reach for the antacids and be done with it. It may surprise you that you’re doing more harm than good, and this could lead to more lasting damage in the long run.

With all of the myths and misconceptions surrounding heartburn, a clear discussion as to its cause is in order. As stated above, heartburn usually begins suddenly in the chest, and typically this condition occurs at some time just after we’ve eaten. The burning sensation, near the heart, is due to the fact that the stomach juices can sometimes get backed up, gurgling into the gullet, with acid rising up the esophagus, burning and irritating its lining along the way. It’s easy for the stomach to handle this sever liquid, its lining is designed to resist stomach acid. Our gullet lining, unfortunately, is not. Therefore, when the acid lets loose in the esophagus, trouble follows right behind it. Heartburn is born and you might as well put on an old movie, because you are going to be awake for a while.

We all have a part in our body to which we can point the finger of blame. You can call him LES, or Lower Esophageal Sphincter. When this guy is on the job and paying attention, stomach acid stays where it belongs, in the tough-lined stomach. But, when LES has gone to sleep on the job, and is no longer paying proper attention, the mischievious stomach acid loves to sneak past LES and go running rampant in the Upper Esophageal hall around the ticker.

This would explain why almost half of us roll through life, arriving at the end without ever having had so much as an indication of heartburn. LES is more alert and on the job in some of us than others. Lucky them. The rest of us become well familiar with over the counter antacids and acid-reducers, without ever finding out that by using these medicines we might possibly be doing ourselves more harm than good.

So, if popping over the counter pills and other similar cures aren’t going to work, what is? Is it best to just focus on working through the irritation, putting up with the problem and wait for it to lessen? What kind of life would that be to lead?

The point is, don’t give up on finding relief for your heartburn aggravation. No matter how sever or frequent your heartburn, believe that a cure, a lasting cure, is available to you. And what you discover may surprise you.

Living with your heartburn is precisely the wrong thing to do. In fact, following this strategy could lead to serious consequences. Then there is the vital knowledge of being able to tell if what you are suffering is heartburn or a heart attack.

Really, you can live a normal life again. But you must work out the problem LES is causing, permanently. And you must arm yourself with the knowledge needed to get this done. There is more to your heartburn than meets the gullet. Take this situation seriously now, or face the consequences down the way.

If you would like to learn more on this and many other health related subjects please visit

http://www.theshoppboxebookreviews.com/nutrition.htm

Ughhh… I’ve got this horrible sensation where my heart feels like it’s on fire my throat is burning as if acid has been injected into it and I feel like I’m about to gag!

It happens to nearly all of us at one time or another. You enjoy a delicious meal, settle back for some relaxation afterward, and then it hits. The burning sensation in your chest and the bitter taste in your mouth.

For some, the burning gets so intense that it feels as though your chest is on fire. This is where the term “heart burn” comes from, even though the pain has absolutely nothing to do with your heart.

In some severe cases, heart burn can even be mistaken for a heart attack or vice versa – making this condition appear to be more serious than it really is. For most, the pain of heart burn is enough to leave us running for relief from our medicine cabinet. And the good news is that this solution is usually sufficient to put that burning sensation to rest once and for all.

Before discussing treatment options for heart burn, it is important to understand exactly what happens in your body to create this painful sensation after a meal.

At the base of your esophagus, there is a ring-like muscle that is called the lower esophageal sphincter, or LES. Usually, this muscle relaxes to allow food to move from your esophagus into your stomach, where it is digested by your stomach acids. The LES then closes, so that the food and acid inside your stomach cannot creep back up the digestive tract into your esophagus. If this muscle does not work properly for one reason or another, substances in the stomach can indeed come back up, resulting in burning as the stomach acids reach the esophageal lining creating a bitter taste as they make their way to your throat and mouth.

Effective Heart Burn Treatments

Most folks who only occasionally suffer from heart burn will benefit from an over the counter remedy when the condition strikes. This might include an antacid, like Rolaids that will neutralize the stomach acids quickly, giving you relief from the painful burning. Another good over the counter treatment for heart burn is an H-2-receptor blocker, such as Tagamet HB or Pepcid AC. These medicines work differently from the antacids, because they actually reduce the production of acid rather than neutralizing it. And while they are not as speedy as their antacid counterparts, they do tend to bring relief for a longer period of time. Some heart burn sufferers will find that a 1-2 punch will work the best on this condition, with an antacid bringing immediate help while the H-2-receptor blocker will offer relief over the long term.

Like any persistent ailment if you find yourself suffering with more frequent bouts of heart burn, we recommend that you talk to your doctor and get a proper diagnosis so that he/she may point out additional remedies available. Remember frequent occurrences of this condition can lead to damage to the esophageal lining, in which case a prescribed treatment becomes more imperative.

We all know what heartburn is – that burning sensation you feel when the lower esophageal sphincter opens backwards and allows acid and food to return in the esophagus, sometimes up to the mouth, bringing with it an acute burning sensation in the chest. This is called heartburn, maybe because it seems like your heart is on fire!

Why Does Nighttime Heartburn Give Us So Much Grief So Often?

A number of medical reports and studies have shown that lying down, or sleeping, immediately after a heavy meal often causes heavy indigestion and heartburn. This is because sleep reduces the capacity of the body to digest food and so it stays half digested in the stomach for longer, causing extra stomach acid to be produced. It’s also been shown that when anyone changes their sleeping position so that the upper part of the body is slightly elevated, the nighttime heartburn, if it occurs, will not be as severe.

However, the best way to prevent nighttime heartburn is to finish your meals at least two to three hours before you retire for the night. In case you cannot avoid eating late, or immediately retiring to bed, try to sleep on the left side with your left leg straight, and your right leg bent at the knee at a right angle. This position can give almost instant relief from nighttime heartburn and can be used as an SOS treatment when you have nothing better to combat it.

If, after these precautions, you still get acute nighttime heartburn, it is time to consult with a doctor who will be able to prescribe for you the right treatment, diet and other precautionary measures to prevent any re-occurrence.

It’s important that the doctor’s advice and prescribed treatments are followed closely so that they are given the chance to work properly. Do not stop any course of medicine in the middle of their prescribed period – usually after you ‘feel a bit better’ – because this will cause the body to grow more resistant to the drugs and probably make matters worse the next time you have an attack of nighttime heartburn as the treatment will then not be as effective.

There is a wide range of medicines on offer for the treatment of heartburn. The most welcome are always those that offer instant relief, but the most valuable are actually those that prevent the problem before it occurs by reducing the amount of acid that the stomach produces. Prevention is always better than cure, particularly with something like heartburn that can have long term negative consequences.

When the lower esophageal sphincter doesn’t close properly or the stomach content reflux into the esophagus or flow back, the gastroesophageal reflux disease appears.

It is known that the esophagus has the role of carrying food from the mouth to the stomach, and the lower esophageal sphincter which is a ring of muscle situated at the bottom of the esophagus is acting like a valve between the esophagus and stomach.

When there is a stomach acid reflux, the lining of the esophagus is touched, and a burning sensation in the chest or throat appears. This is the so-called heartburn. Sometimes, it may happen that fluid to be tasted in the back of the mouth, fact known under the name of acid indigestion.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease can cause serious problems, and we may consider that a person has this disease if heartburn appears more than twice a week.

The gastroesophageal reflux disease can cause symptoms like acid regurgitation and persistent heartburn. Not always heartburn is present, there were cases of persons that had gastroesophageal reflux disease and no heartburn appeared. But these persons experienced other symptoms instead, like hoarseness in the morning, pain in the chest, or painful swallowing. Bad breath or a dry cough can also be provoked by this disease.

Studies revealed that the gastroesophageal reflux disease appears more often in children and infants. Medical attention is very important in these cases, especially if this problem appears regularly and causes discomfort. The doctor may recommend that you keep the infant for 30 minutes after feeding in an upright position. Burping the infant several times during feeding is also a thing that should be done.

If the patient is an older child, the doctor may recommend avoiding sodas that contain caffeine, spicy foods like pizza, chocolate, peppermint, and also fried and fatty foods or acidic foods like oranges and tomatoes. A wise thing to do is to avoid eating 2 to 3 hours before bed-time. It is also possible that the doctor may prescribe medicine, and in rare cases surgery is needed.

Some factors that contribute to the apparition of the gastroesophageal reflux are: smoking, alcohol, overweight and pregnancy. There are some foods that can be associated to gastroesophageal reflux too. Some of them are: citrus fruits, chocolate, garlic and onions, mint flavorings, spicy foods, fatty and fried foods and drinks with caffeine.

A hiatal hernia may also contribute to gastroesophageal reflux apparition. This hernia appears when the upper part of the stomach is above the diaphragm. It is known that the diaphragm helps the lower esophageal sphincter to keep acid from coming up into the esophagus, and when hiatal hernia is present, it is easier for the acid to come up.

There are multiple factors that can favorize gastroesophageal reflux apparition, but nobody knows exactly why this disease occurs.

For more resources about acid reflux or especially about acid reflux symptoms please click this link http://www.acid-reflux-info-guide.com/acid-reflux-symptoms.htm

Studies revealed that there are more than 25 million Americans that suffer heartburn symptoms every day, and more that 60 millions experience heartburn at least once a month. Nowadays there exist many heartburn medicines to choose from, and also, there appeared a natural product that relieves heartburn pain. That product is made from fresh orange peels, it is an orange peel extract, which has no side effects, and works efficient and safe.

The stomach is producing a fluid that contain an enzyme called pepsin, hydrochloric acid, and sometimes bile. Stomach fluid has a role in helping the digestion, and, the hydrochloric acid that is contained in the fluid helps with vitamin and nutrient absorption, and also prevents bacteria from growing in the stomach and intestines. The stomach has a special lining, that is protecting it from the acid, and from other fluids.

The lower esophageal sphincter, which is a circular band of muscle is using pressure to open and close, and in this way is allowing the food that travels from the mouth down through the esophagus to enter the stomach. After the food reaches the stomach, the lower esophageal sphincter narrows and closes, to prevent it from going back up the esophagus.

Sometimes, the lower esophageal sphincter opens at wrong time and that is causing the stomach fluid to enter the esophagus. Because the esophagus does not have a special lining to protect it from the hydrochloric acid, a burning pain will result.

It is known that heartburn and ulcers are in the same family of acid-related maladies, but usually, ulcers are caused by bacterial infection of the stomach, chronic use of aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Both diseases can be aggravated by some factors, both show symptoms, and they can cause serious problems if you don’t treat them.

We can say a person has gastroesophageal reflux disease if persistent heartburn is present two or more days a week. This can become a grave problem in time, because the stomach liquid can destroy the delicate esophagus lining. Gastroesophageal reflux disease can provoke the apparition of other diseases too, like pneumonia, asthma, chronic cough, hoarseness, or increased risks for esophageal cancer and Barrett’s esophagus condition.

There are a lot of factors that can provoke the appearance of heartburn. Large meals are not good, because may force the stomach liquid to come into the esophagus, lying down after eating is also not recommended. Foods like chocolate, tomatoes, garlic, black pepper, vinegar, citrus fruits or spicy foods can make the lower esophageal sphincter to relax and open, and in that way, stomach liquid will enter the esophagus.

Heartburn often appears to overweight persons, because abdominal fat leads to a higher pressure in the abdomen. Higher pressure in the abdomen also can appear to pregnant women, and there are more than 25% of the pregnant women who experience heartburn sometime during pregnancy.

It is known that people with hiatal hernias have often problems with heartburn. This hernia allows foods and stomach fluid to travel back into the esophagus.

Usually, medications that are used to treat heartburn have serious side-effects. Antacids can make the stomach to become more vulnerable to food poisoning, for example, a potentially fatal bacteria found in raw shellfish that is normally neutralized by stomach juices can live up to 2 hours in presence of antacids. That has as a result the apparition of diarrhea, stomach cramps and severe vomiting.

Antacids can also interact with other medications, or prevent their absorption. Some of the medications affected by antacids are benzodiazepines, chloroquine, allopurinol, aspirin, corticosteroids, phenytoin type drugs, diabetic medicines, ticlopidine, tetracycline, thyroid and ulcer medications.

Proton pump inhibitors have as an effect that they reduce stomach’s ability to produce acid almost completely.

H2-receptor blockers act in decreasing hydrochloric acid production, and as a negative aspect is the fact that B12 and calcium absorption from food can no longer take place.

There are other medications too, like Nexium, Prevacid, and Prilosec, which are safe it they are being used short periods, but the long-term consequences are not known.

In stead, the orange peel extract is a safe and has results. There are a few theories about how this extract acts. It is believed that it helps the food to stay in the esophagus just as long it is needed, the food is moving to the stomach efficiently. Orange peel extract may also decrease the potential for the fluid to come into the esophagus, working as a surfactant substance. It is recommended the dose of 1,000 mg of orange peel extract/day, for 20 days, because that was the amount used in the studies.

Among the patients who took part to the study, almost one-third experienced resolution of heartburn symptoms as early as the second day of the study and 90% of participants reported resolution of heartburn symptoms two weeks. Even 2 weeks after they stopped this treatment, they haven’t experienced heartburn. The conclusion is that after

20 days of taking orange peel extract, most of the patients experienced no heartburn, and some people experienced mild heartburn after they started consuming foods that they avoided before.

The orange peel extract is a natural product, but you should follow the dosages on the label, and it is known that some people must avoid this extract. You shouldn’t take orange peel extract if you are pregnant, if you have or you are suspect of ulcer, and also children shouldn’t be given this extract because not all age- groups clinical tests have been finished.

It was discovered that the orange peel extract has a pronounced cancer preventative activity. No toxicities were found in any of the patients that used this extract, analysis of the blood levels revealed that it was well absorbed, and it is also known that this extract inhibits the way cancer cells divide and grow.

Persistent heartburn can lead to complications, that is why it is important to go to the doctor if you have symptoms like painful swallowing, severe hoarseness or wheezing, vomiting for more than three days. There can come also other symptoms, which are associated to other grave diseases, that’s why you must contact the doctor at once. Some of that symptoms are: extreme stomach discomfort, vomiting of bloody or black material, black or bloody bowel movements.

Heartburn is a serious problem that affects many people, but there are treatments, and now, a safe and effective option of treatment appeared – orange peel extract .

For more resources about acid reflux or especially about acid reflux surgery please click this link http://www.acid-reflux-info-guide.com/acid-reflux-surgery.htm

Heartburn! The taste of stomach acid! Uncomfortable burning! Pain! Discomfort! Nauseous! And not being able to enjoy the foods that we love! You suffer from acid reflux (also called heartburn) and you are looking for a cure. I promise you clicked the right link.

You are part of the millions who are struggling with this debilitating disease that affects 1 in 5 adults each day. And my dad was in your shoes over 30 years ago and after a mishap surgery, he finally found an acid reflux natural remedy that worked for him.

Have you been diagnosed with one of the following: acid reflux; heartburn; hiatal hernia; gastritis; or esophageal reflux? Are you tired of popping the antacids and Tums? Do you want a treatment that will cure the cause and not another band-aid?

You are the perfect candidate for an acid reflux natural remedy!

My Dad’s Acid Reflux Story

My dad almost lost his life almost 30 years ago after a stomach surgery which was suppose to cure his acid reflux. Unfortunately, there were complications that left my dad with a year of misery. He spent the next year, vomiting 3-4 times per day. He describes that year of his life as a living nightmare. But, then he found a simple acid reflux cure.

After sleeping the whole night without one reflux flare-up (this hadn’t happened in a year), he knew a miracle had just occurred. And after back tracking his previous night’s routine, he realized that a red apple was a simple cure. And 3 months after the first night, he went almost the whole 90 days with no flare-ups.

But do you really have to carry an apple with you the rest of your life?

Is there more Acid Reflux Remedies?

My dad always carries a slice of apple wherever he goes but it is often unneeded. Why? Because he also naturally cured the cause of his acid reflux problem, by allowing his diet to heal his LES (Lower Esophageal Sphincter) and esophagus.

What is the LES (Lower Esophageal Sphincter) and esophagus?

Strengthening your LES is the answer to the cure! At the top of your stomach is a muscle (like a flap) called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), which normally opens and closes allowing food to enter the stomach. It also prevents the stomach acid from backing up into your esophagus. During an acid reflux flare-up, the LES opens at inappropriate times, allowing the stomach acid to leak into the esophagus. At this moment, heartburn awakens!

Allowing your esophagus to heal will also help the cure. By eating the right foods for 3-4 days, you can actually allow your esophagus to heal from the excess of stomach acid (more acidic than battery acid). To do this, we recommend eating softer foods during the treatment.

Start Your Acid Reflux Natural Remedy Today

To begin this simple treatment, we recommend you start acid reflux natural remedy today using these helpful tips.

1.	Eat soft foods for 3 days to heal your LES and esophagus.

2.	Avoid spicy and acidic foods for 2 days.

3.	Avoid smoking for 2 days.

4.	Stop drinking coffee for 2 days due to the acidic content.

5.	Drink water after every meal to allow your LES flap to have a tight close which will keep the food and gas inside the stomach.

And the Rest…

Why should you cure your acid reflux naturally instead of using prescription drugs? The answer to this question might surprise you or save you. Please visit our website to discover how you can find how you could cure your acid reflux in one week with a step by step acid reflux natural remedy. All our remedy reports are 100% guaranteed, medical doctor approved and researched-based. Our 97% success rate should assure you that you will not be disappointed.

If you’re a heartburn sufferer, the best way to overcome its effect is to learn more about it. You may think that it is just a simple case of indigestion manifested by a burning pain in the chest, often mistaken for a heart attack.

For one, you cannot just let this type of disease go on without proper treatment, because this is a reflux disorder that can lead to complications including cancer. Knowing how to stop heartburn or GERD is also about gathering information on what foods to avoid and what aspects of your lifestyle to correct.

If you know what induces the lower esophageal sphincter or LES, to become inefficient in sealing the entry points of the esophagus, you can prevent the disease from recurring. In fact, the linings of the esophagus can be damaged if this medical problem persists.

You should also have an awareness that heartburn may crop up if one has hiatal hernia, poor eating habits, incorrect sleeping habits, unhealthy lifestyle, is overweight, taking drugs for other medical conditions, or pregnant.

Below are the instances on how these diseases or conditions can lead to heartburn:

1. Hiatal hernia – or hiatus hernia arises when the upper portion of the stomach protrudes to the thorax caused by a tear in the diaphragm. In this case, it will be easier for the acid of the stomach to reflux into the esophagus.

2. Pregnant – GERD in pregnant women usually happens during the later part of pregnancy. Their digestive systems develop difficulty in digesting food intakes. Hence, large meals, citrus fruits, spicy and fatty foods; and any activity after each meal should be avoided while pregnant.

3. Overweight – Obesity can increase the pressure in the abdomen resulting to the upward push of stomach contents including acid into the esophagus.

4. Poor eating habits – Regularly missing meals causes acid build up in the stomach that can disrupt the digestion processes.

5. Unhealthy lifestyle – Cigarette smoking weakens the LES and drinking alcohol beverages is akin to filling up your stomach with acid.

6. Drugs for other medical conditions – These include drugs for high blood pressure, abnormal menstrual bleeding, sea sickness, asthma, antidepressants, Parkinson’s disease, insomnia or heart disease.

7. Incorrect sleeping habits and postures – If you lie down after eating, the tendency is for the stomach contents to press harder on the LES. You should wait for at least 2 hours to pass after eating and before lying down.

Arming yourself with adequate knowledge on how to stop heartburn can help you overcome this disease before it leads to a condition that can overcome you.

Many of us suddenly get a burning sensation that starts in the chest. This condition occurs sometimes just after we have eaten. After our stomachs have digested the food, the stomach juices can sometimes flow into the gullet, or as it is correctly called the esophagus. When that happens the esophagus lining gets irritated and a burning sensation can felt be especially near the heart. This is the main cause of heartburn for most people.

The part of the body that is responsible for heartburn occurring is the Lower Esophageal Sphincter, or LES as it is sometimes called. This valve is responsible for keeping the stomach juices within our stomachs. The intestines of the stomach are capable of dealing with the stomach acids. However if for any reason the LES relaxes then the stomach juices can flow into the esophagus and begin causing heartburn.

The walls or the skin of the esophagus are very thin, therefore the esophagus can get irritated by the acidity of the stomach juices. There are a few factors for the cause of heartburn to occur. Here is a list of what is considered to be some of the top reasons for heartburn.

Coffee, tea, and other drinks that contain caffeine can relax the Lower Esophageal Sphincter, thus allowing the stomach juices to flow into the esophagus. Chocolate contains certain amounts of a substance called theobromine.

This compound is found naturally in many caffeine bearing plants. The theobromine relaxes the LES muscle and causes the stomach acid to shoot up into the esophagus leading to heartburn.

Fried and fatty foods have a tendency to slow down the digestion process. This leads to the food being kept in the stomach for a long time. This results in increased pressure to the stomach. This pressure build-up weakens the LES allowing stomach acid to pass into the esophagus.

Tomatoes and tomato-based products, and alcohol also cause the LES to relax. These foods lead to an increase in the production of more stomach acid. This is another heartburn factor.

The tobacco chemicals in cigarettes weaken the LES, as the chemicals pass from the lungs into your blood.

Eating large amounts of food any time of the day puts extra pressure on your lower esophageal sphincter. Therefore there is a chance that some of this digested food will end up in the esophagus. This is especially true in the night as having a large dinner just before you go to sleep leads to the digesting food to press harder against your LES.

Drinking and eating lots of citrus fruits and juices also causes the LES to become relaxed. This is another cause of heartburn.

The last cause of heartburn, is clothing that restricts your stomach. As the clothes press against the stomach walls they force the food up against the LES.

In short, and keeping it nice and simple, the best way to prevent heartburn is to realize that by changing your lifestyle to avoid many of the factors that are the cause of heartburn, you can have a healthy happy life stretching out ahead of you.

If you experience persistent, dry coughing, coughing acid reflux is one possible cause of the problem. This might come as a surprise to you, since you may not experience all of the typical symptoms of acid reflux disease, which include heartburn, regurgitation, hoarseness, sore throat, bad breath, and a sensation of having food stuck in the throat. If you experience few or none of these symptoms, you might be wondering how it’s possible that your coughing could be related to acid reflux. First, it might be helpful to understand the causes and mechanisms of acid reflux.

Acid reflux occurs when food and stomach acid are regurgitated from the stomach back through the esophagus. The esophagus is the tube that travels from your mouth to your stomach, and there is muscle where the esophagus meets the stomach called the lower esophageal sphincter, or LES. The job of the LES is to serve as a one-way valve that lets food into the stomach, and then closes so that food can’t travel back into the esophagus. Acid reflux happens when the LES isn’t doing its job.

There are many different factors that can cause the LES to malfunction. Whether occasional or frequent, overeating can block the LES from closing completely. Other conditions may cause the LES to open at the wrong time. Smoking, excessive caffeine consumption, and certain medications can also contribute to acid reflux. There is not always a clear, identifiable cause in people who suffer from acid reflux.

Coughing and acid reflux go hand in hand because stomach acid that is released from the stomach may travel back through the esophagus to the throat and larynx. In some cases the esophagus might be able to deal with this acidic assault, while the throat and larynx cannot. It is this acid irritation that can lead to a persistent cough.

In rare cases, stomach acid can also cause the development of another type of coughing. Coughing acid reflux can cause stomach acid to move through the throat and into the lungs. This can result in a dry, persistent acid reflux cough that is accompanied by respiratory disorders like pneumonia or bronchitis. This can sometimes be mistaken for asthma, and may also exacerbate symptoms in people who have already been diagnosed with asthma.

The best way to avoid coughing acid reflux is to prevent acid reflux from occurring. This can be achieved by avoiding overeating, and avoiding foods that commonly cause acid reflux. Some foods to avoid are anything overly greasy, carbonated drinks, chocolate, tomato sauces, garlic and onions, spicy foods, and acidic foods like citrus fruits, for example. In general, avoid any food that is considered a typical trigger for heartburn, then coughing acid reflux will be a non-issue.

Eating frequent, small meals, as well as using loose-fitting clothing can also help relieve acid reflux coughing. These strategies help prevent putting too much pressure on the LES that may cause it to fail to close completely.

Acid reflux cough can also be controlled by using over the counter medications that work by either neutralizing stomach acid, or by decreasing production of stomach acid.

If dietary modification and over the counter medicines don’t work to alleviate your dry cough, you should see your doctor for a definitive diagnosis and long term treatment plan. Coughing acid reflux can be treated before developing into a more serious condition.
